About the Grant

We are leveraging our expertise and positioning to deliver on a $70 million U.S. Department of Agriculture Partnership for Climate Smart Commodities grant (“the Grant”). Serving as a collaboration between industry partners, the Grant is designed to develop end-to-end supply chain partnerships with the goal of both producing climate smart commodities and marketing them via brands and retailers to consumers.  

About the Position

We are in search of a detail-oriented Program Manager to enhance our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in program and project management, marked by exceptional organizational and communication skills. As a Program Manager, you will be instrumental in refining and driving our program planning and execution processes, ensuring streamlined and effective delivery. 

 

Your Daily Focus: 

  • Program Management: Implement and maintain a robust program management system across multiple projects, ensuring tasks are clearly defined, prioritized, tracked, and completed efficiently.  

  • Organizational Expertise: Inform and maintain our information ecosystem, including internal files, templates, and reporting data, ensuring accessibility and orderliness for all team members.  

  • Workflow Optimization: Continually develop and maintain project workflows, aiming to boost operational efficiency and minimize manual efforts.  

  • Risk and Idea Management: Actively identify potential program risks and innovative ideas, logging them for future analysis and integration, thus ensuring valuable insights are captured and explored.  

  • KPI Analysis: Track and report on internally derived Key Performance Indicators, providing critical data to inform program direction and optimize priorities.  

 

Requirements and Evaluation Criteria: 

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Administration, Management, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in program management, particularly in a startup or high-velocity environment.  

  • Project Management Expertise: Superior organizational skills that can prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and streamline complex workflows, and demonstrated proficiency in using project management tools and methodologies.  

  • Stakeholder Engagement Skills: Strong interpersonal abilities, including the skill to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse range of team members and external partners, ensuring alignment and cohesive project progress.   

  • Knowledge Management: Experience in organizing and managing internal documents and communication systems.  

  • KPI & Workflow Optimization: Experience in tracking and reporting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with an eye towards providing actionable insights. A track record of developing, refining, and, where possible, automating workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort.  

  • Risk Management & Innovation: Capability to proactively identify program risks and opportunities, with a focus on capturing innovative ideas and ensuring no valuable insight is lost.  

 

Preference for the Following: 

  • Advanced degree: MBA or professional certification in Project Management.  

  • Leadership Mindset: Experience in leading cross-functional teams in a collaborative environment.  

  • Agricultural Industry Familiarity: Knowledge of or interest in agriculture and climate action is a significant plus, as it allows for more authentic and informed communication about our projects and goals.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:  

Normal physical requirements associated with working in an office environment such as prolonged sitting and repetitive motion such as typing on a computer keyboard. May also require periodic standing, walking, and/or bending. Visual acuity sufficient to perform frequent work on a computer screen and review printed reports and other materials. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The person in this position has frequent in person and virtual contact with others. Requires the ability to hear and to communicate orally with others.
